The #End SARS movement is truly getting serious here in Anambra state as more and more personalities in getting involved into the protest.
The Awkuzu Anambra End SARS protest that took place at Awkuzu SARS office on the 16th of October is a clear indication that the youths of Anambra state is truly sad with the evil perpetration of the Nigeria Anti Robbery police squad.
The protest which was championed by most of the Nigerian top celebrities of Igbo origin. Some of the personalities that partook in the protest include the likes of Yul Edochie, Flavour, Zero, Phyno, Kcee, and so many others numerous to mention.
It was reported that the protesters converged at Late Sir Alex Ekwueme Square at Awka Capital of Anambra state from where they marched down to Awkuzu SARS office as the chant End SARS!
One of the protesters during interview narrated what happened;
“when we reach SARS office at Awkuzu, the police started releasing bullets into the air, this scared us and made us to start running for safety, after some munities, we were able to summon courage and match forward.
We pulled down their entrance gate which they reacted by releasing tear gas on us. We on our own path throw the tear gas they shot at us back to them.
I can proudly say that the Awkuzu Anambra End SARS protest was a huge success and also a peaceful one. We did not sustained any injury, no casualty. Indeed it went as we planned.
We also urge the youths who didn’t participate in this protest to please join our movement. It’s a nonviolent protest, we intend not to hurt anybody, we only ask the government to do what is right and on that our demand we stand.”
The executive governor of the state has responded to the action of the protestants by sacking his security aide CSP James Nwafor.
